We tested Copysmith.ai to see how good it is at creating long form content

I’ve heard a lot lately from a company called Copysmith.ai. Its founder Jasmine Wang has done some exciting things with AI in content marketing.

Copysmith.ai is an AI copywriting tool that claims to create high-converting ads, product descriptions, emails, and more – in seconds! Their homepage states that the tool will end writer’s block and help you explore creative terrain faster than ever before.

It can’t generate absolutely accurate long-form posts, but it’s better for long-form content than most of the other AI tools we’ve seen. It can rewrite paragraphs, generate blog outlines, improve your content, help with writing a press release, and so on.

We decided to put this AI content generator to the test with a full Copysmith AI review. We tested it to see how AI technology could hold up.

Is the content really good? Can AI content exist for human authors? Let’s find out.

What is Copysmith.ai?

According to Linkedin, Copysmith.ai was founded in 2020 and employs 17 people, mostly in San Francisco.

For a little over 1 year the traction looks good. Crunchbase reveals that the team raised a $ 10 million startup fund from a few different investors like PSG and Harmony Venture Labs.

Who is the tool best for?

Copysmith.ai is best for marketing agencies, freelancers, in-house marketing teams, and ecommerce owners who need to generate content quickly.

It specializes in scaling content faster. Compared to other AI writing tools, Copysmith focuses a little more on long-form content for blog writers with its unique Article Writing Assistant, which helps you break down the content and then expand it.

It mainly focuses on a few different types of services:

  • Content Rewriter – Rewrite your favorite content quickly.
  • Product Descriptions – Create beautiful descriptions worthy of your products
  • Content Ideas – Incredible ideas for partnerships, innovations, sponsorship, and more.
  • Blog Ideas – Get great blog ideas in just a few clicks. Combine it with the blog outline or intro generator!

They seem to specialize in spontaneously creating ideas and content for an initial draft situation. The tool is well suited for clearing writer’s block that we all struggle with from time to time. They also have a couple of features like the “Pitch Yourself” feature which can be a little fun too.

How to use Copysmith.ai

Getting started with Copysmith.ai is very easy. The platform is very fast, functional and robust to use.

Not only that, they are also reasonably priced. It’s $ 19 / month billed monthly and $ 16 / month billed annually. Your YouTube channel has plenty of well-crafted tutorials that will walk you step by step through making any type of copy you may need.

Here’s a look at the inside of Copysmith.ai and how to use some of its features.

Let’s say I wanted to make a blog intro paragraph copy.

After you have clicked on “New File” in the portal, you will be shown a screen to start creating your text.

It’s pretty simple, but a bit confusing the first few times. All you need to do is enter the name of the file, this is mainly for organization. If you want to assign it to a folder or project, you can do that too. Then select the type of content you want to create and hit “Generate”.

Next, you put CopySmith with the content you want to generate. For this example, I’ve chosen to have a blog intro for a blog on “Best On Page SEO Tips” written in a “professional” tone.

Here are the results it generated.

The results were generated in likely less than 5 seconds. But I’ve seen this process take up to 30 seconds (likely during high volume periods). Copysmith provided a total of 10 blog post intros to choose from.

The results are pretty solid. While SEO is a much written topic, the AI tool was smart enough to tell the difference between on-page and off-page SEO. The professional tone was also clearly shown.

Next, I tested the Compose the Complete Blog Post feature. Similar to the last example, I started creating the file and seeding the content.

This is now one of the longer pieces of content I’ve generated using AI. It generated a total of 1339 words in less than 20 seconds.

But when it comes to quality, I’m on the fence.

It is good? No not true.

I wouldn’t say it’s good content, but some pieces make sense and would speed up my writing process significantly. It doesn’t sound like natural, but it was written by a robot. To use this content requires some significant editing and formatting. However, Copysmith is better at generating long-form content than any other tool I’ve seen.

Grammar and spelling

Much effort has gone into improving machine learning algorithms to achieve more natural looking content generation. It’s not perfect yet, but it’s gotten a lot better over the past few years.

Grammar is great for identifying specific grammatical errors in your writing and marking them for further review.

To test how good the Ai-generated copy of Copysmith.ai is, I ran the paragraphs through Grammarly. Surprisingly, it did pretty well, getting an overall rating of 84%.

These are the typing problems that came back.

While there were a handful of correctness errors that needed to be fixed through punctuation errors and formatting, what caught my eye the most was the readability rating. Depending on your audience, this text would likely be quite difficult to read.

The grammar itself isn’t the best judge of content quality, but if you are familiar with the tool you will know that, in general, it means that the content in this text will take some work. It may only take a few changes to incorporate it into your voice or to suit your preferred writing style.

When it comes to plagiarism with the AI copy generated by Copysmith.ai, Grammarly has found 3% plagiarism.

This is usually about right, especially if you’re used to checking lengthy blog posts for plagiarism. I find these usually come back with a plagiarism rate of 1 or 2% (which is usually from completely unrelated content).

When it comes to AI generated text, accuracy and truthfulness can be a big problem.

For example, if you blog about survival knives but the content comes back with kitchen knives, the reader is sure to be confused.

Or there is the example in the screenshot above. I asked the tool to create a blog intro on “Can Humans Eat a Gallon of Ice Cream Everyday?” You can see that there have been some unique answers. While I can’t think of any reason why eating a gallon of ice cream every day would be a good diet, and while I’d love to have a pint of ice cream every day, the very thought of eating a gallon of ice cream makes me sick a session. Copysmith has a couple of very different conclusions.

In one overview it says: “Ice cream is part of your daily diet”. While in another the conclusion is, “Eating ice cream every day is not a healthy habit. Ice cream is a high calorie and high fat treat. ”The question is, what is true? Which one is right?

You’d have to go and actually do some more research on primary sources to find out if you could really eat a gallon of ice cream a day.

Overall, Copysmith has provided enough examples to give you a good selection of ideas with good copy. But you would still have to do a fact check. It all seemed comprehensive, well-written, and relevant – for the most part.

main features

Copysmith.ai also has a handful of other important features and benefits:

  • One platform to manage all of your copies
  • Brainstorm endless content with ad ideas, content ideas, and other idea templates
  • Beat your customers with the FAQ ideas template

Copysmith.ai review

All in all, my first impressions and experiences with Copysmith.ai are that it can be a useful and helpful tool for the right person.

As mentioned earlier, the tool is fast, functional and robust. It enables you to instantly write ads for Google, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and more.

In the case of certain topics – especially those relating to the health and well-being of humans and animals – the truthfulness and correctness must be checked. Most of the time, however, it’s fine.

Just like with other AI copywriting tools, the results are pretty impressive for how early the technology is and I can only expect it to get better in the next few years. When creating brief content. Copysmith is a great option, especially at its price. Copysmith is ahead of the competition when it comes to longer content, but there is no way you will get a perfectly generated blog post on the first try.

Coupled with content optimization tools and the like like Grammarly, I wouldn’t rule it out. Try the free trial version to try it out for yourself.

Copysmith.ai prices

Pricing starts at $ 19 / month billed monthly or $ 16 / month billed annually.

The free trial is a 3-day unlimited trial that does not require a credit card. This should give you plenty of opportunities to evaluate the tool. The starter package, which runs under $ 20 / month, limits you to 50 credits per month or 20 plagiarism credits.

Copysmith.ai alternatives

If you think Copysmith.ai is not for you, there are plenty of alternative AI text authoring services out there.

Other AI copywriting and copywriting software:

  • Conversion.AI
  • Copy.ai
  • Jarvis (best for social media and copywriting)

All tools are relatively cheap with similar features and can also be tested with free trials.

We’re just beginning to see what these AI content tools can do, and I expect them to get a lot better in the near future. Who knows where online business and blogging will lead? But I don’t expect content writers and agencies to become unemployed anytime soon.
